Food Industry: Make Dosage Operations Even Easier with Solutions From Dini Argeo and Rice Lake Weighing Systems
Maximising productivity and reducing waste: these were the main objectives of Expertarom, a food flavour production company, who turned to one of our leading Romanian dealers to integrate weighing into his process.
Maximising productivity and reducing waste: these were the main objectives of Expertarom, a food flavour production company, who turned to one of our leading Romanian dealers to integrate weighing into his process.
Expertarom specialises in creating flavours for the food industry, and they wanted to automate certain operations that were usually performed by physical operators.
To achieve this, Expertarom chose to install three T-Dini Argeo Series platforms connected to a Rice Lake Weighing Systems 1280 Enterprise™ Series weight indicator.
How This System Works
This installation with a 1280 weight indicator and Dini Argeo platforms allows the operator to quickly recall the recipe and follow the step-by-step dosage instructions with specific targets. Let’s see how this is possible.
The company files, which include lists containing the specific quantities for each flavour, are stored in the 1280 FTP server.
The 1280 weight indicator automatically detects the presence of these files, imports the data and allows the operator to dose the required quantities.
First, the operator identifies himself via a scanner that reads his badge. Then, he can proceed with the dosage operations. The system displays all ingredients for a specific order, their targets and their current status (already dosed, partially dosed or not dosed) with a graphic. The operator scans the bar code of the ingredient to be dosed and the 1280 automatically selects the most appropriate scale platform to use and visually displays the manual dosing to be carried out. The weight indicator shows the progress of the dosage process status via colours: amber = keep dosing, green = you are in the target area, red = dosage exceeded.
When a dosage order is complete, the system prints a bar code from a labeler connected on LAN that is attached to the product's case.
In addition, all dosing results are exported and sent to the FTP server so that the company’s SAP can import them.
