How to Use a Start/Stop Box
Weight-based batching routines add efficiency to many operations and a Start/Stop box can help simplify your processes.
A Start/Stop box is an important piece of equipment for a weight-based batching routine because it allows you to easily start, abort or stop your operation. It can also automatically trigger an emergency stop if the wire from the box to the indicator were ever cut or disconnected. While these functions can be done with the indicator’s softkeys, the Start/Stop Box provides a safety advantage by providing direct access to signals needed in an emergency situation instead of spending extra time navigating through a menu.
Once a technician has wired the Start/Stop box to your indicator and configured the indicator to your specified batching routine, you can begin production by using the Start/Stop box to start, stop and abort a batching routine by rotating the start switch or pressing the emergency stop button.
From here, you can either continue by releasing the E-stop button and moving the switch to the Start position or you can abort the batch by moving the switch into the Abort position and releasing the E-stop button. The indicator will reset the batch and you can move the switch to the start position to begin a new batch.
