Rice Lake Webinar Series: NIST Handbook 44 User Requirements
Webinar Series Summary
This webinar series aims to educate the end user about NIST Handbook 44 user requirements (UR) as they apply to selection, installation, use and maintenance of devices. This series is especially directed toward the scale owner or operator.
NIST Handbook 44 is a comprehensive set of requirements for weighing and measuring devices that are used in commerce and law enforcement activities. Although Handbook 44 is not a federal law, it was developed and is updated annually by the National Conference on Weights and Measures (NCWM). Its complete title is "Specifications, Tolerances, and Other Technical Requirements for Weighing and Measuring Devices." Handbook 44 ensures fairness and equity in the marketplace by laying the groundwork for adhering to federal, state and local jurisdictions through accurate and traceable measurements.
Rice Lake has developed this webinar series to guide you through Handbook 44 user requirements. This series is a tool to help you use Handbook 44; however, you should always have an updated copy of Handbook 44, available for download on the NIST website, with you as your ultimate source for scale and weighing requirements.
