Cable Tension Meter

Cable tension meters, sometimes called tension gauges or tensiometers, should be used wherever wire ropes or cables are used for safety or equipment support. Many instances involve infrastructure construction such as bridges, cable barriers, overhead electric transit wires and more. Additionally, guy wires on ship masts, radio towers, wind turbines, utility poles or even rooftop equipment must have the proper tension to ensure reliable support/structure security.

Rice Lake Weighing Systems’ MSI Dyna-Clamp is a cable tension meter that allows operators to easily measure tension on cables or wire ropes with diameters from 3/16 of an inch up to one inch without changing or adjusting sheaves and bobbins.

Rice Lake’s tension meter has an easy-turn power screw to effortlessly engage with cables to simplify tension measurement, even in difficult environments. The engagement site window on the Dyna-Clamp helps ensure proper placement and accurate tension readings. The Dyna-Clamp has accommodations for a safety strap for working overhead to ensure safety and compliance with OSHA requirements.

The large LCD display on the Dyna-Clamp makes it easier for operators to clearly read tension measurements even in bright, sunny conditions. A scratch-resistant overlay on the display increases durability. This tension meter also has a two-line display, showing cable tension on the primary line while the secondary line can be configured to show cable diameter, average tension or peak tension.
